FRAGRANCE FAQ'S

Collapsible content

What is a fragrance, and how is it made?

Fragrance, often referred to as perfume or cologne, is a mixture of aromatic compounds, essential oils, solvents, and fixatives designed to emit a pleasant scent. These components can be derived from natural sources (such as flowers, fruits, or woods) or synthesized in a laboratory.

What are the different types of fragrances?

Fragrances are categorized into several types based on their concentration of aromatic compounds. Common types include Eau de Parfum, Eau de Toilette, Eau de Cologne, and Perfume Extract (Parfum). The concentration of aromatic compounds increases from Eau de Cologne to Perfume Extract, resulting in varying levels of scent intensity and longevity.

How do I choose the right fragrance for myself?

Selecting the right fragrance is a personal choice and depends on your preferences. Consider factors like your favorite scent notes (e.g., floral, woody, citrus), the occasion (casual or formal), and the fragrance's longevity when making your choice.

What are fragrance notes?

Fragrances are often described in terms of
"notes." These notes are categorized into top, middle, and base notes. Top notes are the initial scents you smell, middle notes emerge after
the top notes fade, and base notes are the long-lasting scents that linger.
Together, they create the fragrance's unique scent profile.

How can I make my fragrance last longer?

To prolong the longevity of your fragrance, apply it to pulse points like the
wrists, neck, and behind the ears. Ensure your skin is well-hydrated, as
fragrance lasts longer on moisturized skin. Additionally, storing your fragrance in a cool, dark place away from direct sunlight can help preserve its
quality

How do I apply fragrance correctly?

Apply fragrance to clean, moisturized skin. Focus on pulse points like wrists, neck, and behind the ears. Avoid rubbing your wrists together, as it can break down the fragrance molecules.

Can fragrances change over time after application?

Yes, fragrances can evolve and change as they interact with your skin's chemistry. This is why the initial scent you smell (the top note) may differ from the scent after a few hours (the drydown).

Can I mix and match different fragrances to create a signature scent?

Absolutely! Experimenting with layering fragrances can lead to a unique and personalized scent. Start with complementary scents and adjust the ratio to your liking.

What is the significance of the "olfactory pyramid" in fragrancecomposition?

The olfactory pyramid is a way to describe a fragrance's structure. It consists of top, middle, and base notes, each contributing to the overall scent profile. Top notes are the initial impression, middle notes develop over time, and base notes provide depth and longevity.
